The Old 44 Drive is the name of the road I lived on when I was living in California. Quite some time ago the part of the Old 44 we used to live on was used to be the main Road between Redding CA and Susanville CA. The street runs through the beautiful Lassen Volcanic National Park and the rugged landscape of Northern California. In my mind this street means freedom, the freedom to embark on adventures and tackle the craziest dreams I can make up in my mind. This street is also the place where I discovered filmmaking and fell in love with it. It’s the place I filmed my first video. I tried to get the best lighting with the lamps we had in our living room and I cut the whole video on an old Mac that runs Imovie. The Old 44 Drive is the place where I embarked on an adventure and since then I’m still running and enjoying every moment of that adventure.
Hey Guys I’m Kevin, i was born on March 9, 1993, which makes me a real nineties kid. I grew up with the mighty ducks cartoons, the beast wars transformers and Lord of the Rings. Since i was a little child i was always fascinated by stories and storytelling, I guess every child is fascinated by it but i just never stopped to be fascinated by stories. I think my fascination for stories is what brought me to filmmaking, i love telling and crafting stories alike. Film is the most powerful way to tell a story, film marries the audio and visual power and it captures the audiences attention much quicker and brings up emotions like nothing else. I believe in the strength of decision making. We humans have been given the power of free will, free will is what drives everything in our lives, in every moment we have the opportunity to say yes to something or to say no to something. This is the most profound and powerful skill we own, to make up our mind and to choose life or death. I believe there are live giving decisions and death bringing decisions, it’s important to choose things that make us come alive and well instead of bitter and sick.
